The Yearly "Reptile Show"

Every year, Steve brings some of his reptiles to Mason's class and does a presentation.

Now that Mason is in First grade, we coordinate the types of animals we bring to a subject that they are studying in class. We recently took some desert animals, as his class was learning about different animals and plants that live in the desert.

I think that Mason always becomes the most popular kid in class when we bring the animals in..... if only for a few hours and their short memories laps! :)

Mason always helps show the animals. And we always get the teacher to hold something that they weren't prepared to. His teacher Ms. Pearl was the most brave of all of them so far! She held snakes, lizards and even the tarantula!

Now there's a first grade teacher for you!!!

The flowers are felt!!.... have I ever told anyone about my weird love of felt? I must get these for Emmy's room! :)



And the trees are decals.... I'm considering these. That way I can move the trees around if I change the layout of the room.... or just leave them. I know I usually paint the awesome things on the walls, but it's something new to try! Who knows, if I decide that I want them, I might end up just painting them on the walls! :)

Emerson's room

I picked out the bedding that I will use in Emerson's room. It's "Daisy Garden" from Pottery Barn Kids..... Naturally a few of the peices are already disontinued! (the crib skirt & floral sheet) But I found the crib skirt on ebay and bought it right away! I'm not so worried about finding sheets that will corrdinate. PBK has a line called Sophie, which has a floral crib sheet that will go well..... Now to find more cute girly stuff! :) Yeah!

And her name will be...

So, I know that everyone always wants to know what the name will be. I am always heasitant, until I know for sure because I dont want someone to have a negative reaction, or tell me about someone that they knew way back when with the same name.... blah, blah, blah! You know what I mean. And in my hormonal state, sometimes I care what people think! But my logical side has to come into play and say that it does't really matter, and everyone will adjust and just have to get used to it if they don't like it! :) But I have waited until we decided for sure.

All that matters is that I love the name and Steve (if he doesnt love it) at least likes it enough to agree with me and never disreguarded the name. (Thanks Babe!)

So now that we have agreed, and know for sure what her first name will be, (middle name will be decided later) I will tell you...

Her first name will be Emerson..... and if you must have a nick name for her you may call her Emmy also.
